On May 15-16, 2006 a workshop on developing/validating curriculum to match the needs of local emloyers was held in Uzhgorod at the Uzhgorod Higher Vocational School for Trade and Food Technology facilities.

The workshop was delivered by a Canadian expert Elaine McNeil, who has many years of experience in facilitating the development of curricula that fit industry needs. She has also worked on international assignment in a number of countries.

The workshop was attended by the representatives of two pilot vocational schools, other vocational training institutions and Zakarpattya Regional Employment Centre.

The main goal of this workshop was to acquaint participants with modern approaches to developing training program that best match industry requirements.

During the workshop, first steps towards developing such training programs were made. Curricula, developed by the participants will later be thoroughly reviewed by industry program committees.
